IDTA Exams

Revolution Dance Studios – IDTA Examinations

At Revolution Dance Studios, we are proud to offer our students the opportunity to take part in yearly IDTA (International Dance Teachers’ Association) examinations. These prestigious assessments provide a fantastic way for dancers to track their progress, gain recognised qualifications, and boost their confidence in their abilities.

Why Take an IDTA Examination?

While IDTA exams are optional, we highly encourage all students to participate. Here’s why:

  • Personal Achievement – Each exam provides a sense of accomplishment and recognition for a dancer’s hard work.
  • Skill Development – Preparing for an examination refines technique, performance skills, and discipline.
  • Internationally Recognised Qualifications – IDTA certifications are widely respected and can be beneficial for those pursuing a career in dance.
  • Confidence & Motivation – Successfully completing an exam builds self-esteem and motivation to keep improving.
  • Progress Tracking – Examinations help students and teachers identify strengths and areas for growth.

How the Examinations Work

Each year, students have the opportunity to take their IDTA examination in various styles, including ballet, tap, acro, street dance, cheerleading, musical theatre and freestyle. Examiners from the IDTA assess students based on technique, performance quality, musicality, and overall presentation. Every student receives feedback and, upon passing, a certificate and award to acknowledge their achievement.

At Revolution Dance Studios, we ensure that every student is well-prepared, offering dedicated exam preparation classes and guidance from our experienced instructors. Our aim is to make the experience positive, rewarding, and stress-free for all dancers.
